How Frequently Should You Have Your Office Building Disinfected?
Since COVID is believed to survive on surfaces for up to 17 days or even more, it’s usually prudent to take the measure of disinfecting your property on a regular basis. This is especially important if you have a larger property and a greater number of employees who have to be there. The EPA and the CDC are both very adamant about these issues, and while they don’t have the ability to force people to disinfect their homes, they do require businesses to hire specialized companies that can do the job for them.
Deep cleaning and disinfection is required mainly when somebody who works at your office has tested positive for COVID. In such cases, to prevent the spread of the disease, the regulations are very clear, and by not following them you can get your business closed down.
Aside from that, the general consensus is that you should combine the use of disinfectant with hiring an EPA-approved and registered commercial disinfection service company to come by once every once in a while for deep cleaning and disinfection. Since not all surface areas require the same frequency, you can consider fogging or some other disinfection method that your own employees can use every day, and leave the deep cleaning to the experts.
